Fequently asked questions
How much are lessons?
£80 for a two hour lesson.

Do you offer one-hour lessons?
No, I don't offer one-hour lessons. I recommend two hours as it allows time to travel to and from your pick-up location and the town where you will take your practical test, whilst still giving you plenty of time to consolidate what you have learnt previously and progression to new topics and skills.

Will my lessons be the same day and time each week?
Yes, I am happy to hold the same slot for you once you start. Continuity is best.

How many lessons will I need?
Everyone is different and lessons will be tailored to the individual.
"How many lessons you need will depend on how quickly you learn.
Research shows that, on average, it takes people 45 hours of driving lessons with a driving instructor plus 22 hours of private practice to pass their test." (Ready to Pass)

Do I need to have passed my theory before starting lessons?
No, you don't need to have passed your theory before starting practical driving lessons, but you do need to have successfully passed your theory to book your practical driving test.

Do you offer intensive courses?
I don't offer intensive courses and believe that students retain skills better if they have lessons once a week with time to reflect and practice in their own vehicle in between. A more gradual approach, allowing them to absorb skills and build confidence over time, often works better. A condensed schedule might not allow enough time to practice different driving conditions and scenarios, which are essential for safe driving. Also, intensive courses often require a larger initial payment.
